Skupina piatich, \u010desk\u00fdch skialpinistov vystupovala smerom ku V\u00fdchodnej \u017deleznej br\u00e1ne. Pred nimi t\u00fdm ist\u00fdm smerom postupovala \u010fal\u0161ia troj\u010dlenn\u00e1 slovensk\u00e1 skupina. \u010cesk\u00e1 skupina si spravila profil snehovej pokr\u00fdvky a\u00a0vzh\u013eadom na nepriazniv\u00e9 podmienky spr\u00e1vne us\u00fadili, \u017ee by \u010falej postupova\u0165 nemali. Rozhodli sa teda odlepi\u0165 p\u00e1sy a\u00a0zly\u017eova\u0165 nadol. Na prezutie si vybrali bezpe\u010dn\u00e9 miesto chr\u00e1nen\u00e9 skalami. Posledn\u00e1 \u010dlenka ich skupiny v\u0161ak mierne zaost\u00e1vala. Skupina nad nimi medzi t\u00fdm postupovala \u010falej. Okolo 11:30 bolo po\u010du\u0165 prasknutie.Prv\u00e1 skupina uvo\u013enila lav\u00ednu a t\u00e1 strhla zaost\u00e1vaj\u00facu \u010dlenku druhej skupiny. Miesto strhnutia bolo pod\u013ea o\u010dit\u00fdch svedkov mierne vpravo od skaly v\u00a0sp\u00e1dnici zo \u017deleznej br\u00e1ny. Prv\u00e1 skupina sa s\u00a0lav\u00ednou zviezla nadol a\u00a0v\u0161etci zostali na jej povrchu. Zasiahnut\u00e1 \u017eena bola zasypan\u00e1 \u00faplne. Kamar\u00e1ti ju lokalizovali pomocou lav\u00ednov\u00e9ho vyh\u013ead\u00e1va\u010da. Pri sondovan\u00ed zasiahli nohu cca 30 cm pod snehom. Okolo 11:45 sa podarilo vykopa\u0165 hlavu, pribli\u017ene 1.5 m pod snehom. Pri hlave sa nenach\u00e1dzala d\u00fdchacia dutina. Zasiahnut\u00e1 bola v\u00a0bezvedom\u00ed. 11:47 sa ju podarilo prebra\u0165. Apr\u00edla napadlo 30 a\u017e 40 cm snehu. Vplyvom ve\u013emi siln\u00e9ho vetra bol sneh nerovnomerne rozmiestnen\u00fd. Nebezpe\u010dn\u00e9, snehov\u00e9 dosky a\u00a0vank\u00fa\u0161e sa vytvorili na z\u00e1vetern\u00fdch stran\u00e1ch pohor\u00ed. V\u00a0na\u0161om pr\u00edpade f\u00fakal preva\u017ene severn\u00fd a\u017e severoz\u00e1padn\u00fd vietor. Sneh sa teda akumuloval hlavne na ju\u017enej strane Tatier. Toto bol pr\u00edpad V\u00fdchodnej \u017deleznej br\u00e1ny, ktor\u00e1 je orientovan\u00e1 na juhoz\u00e1pad. Lav\u00edna bola spusten\u00e1 dodato\u010dn\u00fdm za\u0165a\u017een\u00edm. Skupina, ktor\u00e1 lav\u00ednu spustila nespostupovala s odpor\u00fa\u010dan\u00fdmi rozostupmi. I\u0161lo o\u00a0doskov\u00fa lav\u00ednu z\u00a0ubit\u00e9ho snehu. Kritickou vrstvou bol m\u00e4kk\u00fd, plstnat\u00fd sneh na ktorom sa nach\u00e1dzala tvrd\u0161ia vrstva o\u00a0hr\u00fabke viac ako 30 cm. Odtrh sa nach\u00e1dzal asi 10 m pod vrcholom \u017e\u013eabu do V\u00fdchodnej \u017deleznej br\u00e1ny.\u00a0 Hr\u00fabku n\u00e1nosu a odtrhu sa nepodarilo presne ur\u010di\u0165, preto\u017ee v poobedn\u00fdch a\u00a0ve\u010dern\u00fdch hodin\u00e1ch pokra\u010dovalo vetern\u00e9 po\u010dasie a \u010fal\u0161\u00ed sneh bol naf\u00fakan\u00fd do lav\u00ednovej dr\u00e1hy. Situ\u00e1cia bola aj dnes na\u010falej nebezpe\u010dn\u00e1. V hornej \u010dasti \u017elabu sa znovu nach\u00e1dzal nebezpe\u010dn\u00fd, vetrom ubit\u00fd snehov\u00fd vank\u00fa\u0161. V\u00a0oblasti plat\u00ed u\u017e od \u0161tvrtku 3-zv\u00fd\u0161en\u00e9 lav\u00ednov\u00e9 nebezpe\u010denstvo.
