Nie\u017ee by bol pr\u00edchod zimy, resp. sne\u017eenia a snehovej pokr\u00fdvky na hor\u00e1ch v okt\u00f3bri nezvy\u010dajn\u00fd, to sk\u00f4r jej intenzita s ktorou dorazila. Po nadpriemerne tepl\u00fdch a slne\u010dn\u00fdch dn\u00ed po\u010das septembra (kedy teplota vzduchu na Slovensku \u010dasto vystupovala nad 25\u00b0C) sa ochladilo pribli\u017ene o 15\u00b0C.<\/p>\n<p>Ochladenie a zr\u00e1\u017eky s\u00faviseli s vp\u00e1dom p\u00f4vodne arktick\u00e9ho vzduchu zo severu priamo do strednej Eur\u00f3py. Spo\u010diatku, od pondelka 3.10, sa len zamra\u010dilo a pr\u0161alo (aj v najvy\u0161\u0161\u00edch poloh\u00e1ch) no postupne sa ochladzovalo, hranica sne\u017eenia sa pomaly zni\u017eovala na 2000 m n.m. a a\u017e popoludn\u00ed a ve\u010der (4.10) sa naplno prejavil studen\u00fd vzduch od severu. Teploty klesli o 10\u00b0C a u\u017e od stredy m\u00f4\u017eme hovori\u0165 o seri\u00f3znej zime. Teplota vzduchu na vrcholoch Tatier klesla a\u017e k -12\u00b0C. Hranica sne\u017eenia sa dostala a\u017e pod 700 m n.m. Neust\u00e1le sne\u017eenie prich\u00e1dzaj\u00face od severu sa prejavilo najm\u00e4 v Z\u00e1padn\u00fdch a Vysok\u00fdch Tatr\u00e1ch, kde pripadlo za 2-3 dni 30-60 cm snehu. V ostatn\u00fdch pohoriach 15 &#8211; 35 cm. Okrem sne\u017eenia bol vp\u00e1d arktick\u00e9ho vzduchu sprev\u00e1dzan\u00fd aj extr\u00e9mne siln\u00fdm vetrom, r\u00fdchlos\u0165 ktor\u00e9ho dosahovala a\u017e 25 m\/s, v n\u00e1razoch (kr\u00e1tkodobo)\u00a0 30 a\u017e 40 m\/s (vi\u010f grafy z vrcholov\u00fdch stan\u00edc)<\/p>\n<p>Ke\u010f\u017ee bolo sne\u017eenie sprev\u00e1dzan\u00e9 extr\u00e9mnym vetrom, je jasn\u00e9 \u017ee rozmiestnenie snehovej pokr\u00fdvky je nerovnomern\u00e9. Exponovan\u00e9 miesta s\u00fa \u010dasto vyf\u00fakane, a naopak, v z\u00e1vetern\u00fdch \u017e\u013eaboch, muld\u00e1ch a pod sedlami je v\u00fd\u0161ka snehovej pokr\u00fdvky aj 100 cm. V\u00fdvoj snehovej pokr\u00fdvky znamenal aj vznik lav\u00ednov\u00e9ho nebezpe\u010denstva. Od \u0161tvrtku 6.10 trv\u00e1 vo vy\u0161\u0161\u00edch poloh\u00e1ch Tatier MAL\u00c9 lav\u00ednov\u00e9 nebezpe\u010denstvo (1.stupe\u0148). Situ\u00e1cia v\u0161ak nie je dramatick\u00e1 a t\u00fdka sa hlavne strm\u00fdch svahov s tr\u00e1vnat\u00fdm (alebo inak hladk\u00fdm) povrchom a miest kde bolo naf\u00fakan\u00e9
