Toto v\u00fdrazn\u00e9 a r\u00fdchle ochladenie s\u00faviselo s pr\u00edlevom \u00a0studen\u00e9ho\u00a0morsk\u00e9ho vzduchu zo severn\u00e9ho Atlantiku. Ochladenie bolo naozaj ve\u013emi v\u00fdrazn\u00e9 a prejavilo sa najm\u00e4 vo vysok\u00fdch poloh\u00e1ch. K\u00fdm teplota vzduchu na Lomnickom \u0161t\u00edte dosahovala koncom augusta 17\u00b0C, 8. septembra sme u\u017e zaznamenali teplotu vzduchu iba -7\u00b0C. U\u017e od 6. decembra sa v\u0161ak teplota vzduchu v najvy\u0161\u0161\u00edch poloh\u00e1ch Vysok\u00fdch Tatier pohybuje takmer celodenne pod bodom mrazu. Toto ochladenie bolo navy\u0161e sprev\u00e1dzan\u00e9 slab\u00fdmi zr\u00e1\u017ekami. Slab\u00fd d\u00e1\u017e\u010f a mrholenie sa pribli\u017ene od nadmorskej v\u00fd\u0161ky 1900 m n. m. postupne menili na sne\u017eenie. Ke\u010f\u017ee oteplenie prich\u00e1dza iba ve\u013emi pozvo\u013ene, popra\u0161ok a\u017e nieko\u013eko cm vrstva nov\u00e9ho snehu sa v t\u00fdchto poloh\u00e1ch dr\u017eia dodnes. Snehov\u00e9 &#8222;\u010diapky&#8220; sme tak mohli pozorova\u0165 najm\u00e4 vo Vysok\u00fdch a Z\u00e1padn\u00fdch Tatr\u00e1ch a na najvy\u0161\u0161\u00edch vrcholoch N\u00edzkych Tatier.
